Blady to add three new members by the end of the year

Rookie girl group Blady made their debut back in May with their first single album, “Tingle Tingle“. They’ve recently made their return with “Crazy Day“, and are out to stamp their mark on the K-Pop scene.

Comprised of Darae (22), Bunhong (21), Kangyoon (19), and Sunyoung (19), their name is a combination of the words ‘black’ and ‘lady’. Unlike other girl group who usually don’t stray too far from sexy or cute concepts, Blady opted to go for something strong, confident, and charming.

Darae revealed, “‘Crazy Day’ is a powerful song for powerful women. The lyrics are strong and so is the choreography. It’s just an expression of confident women.” Bunhong added, “When we first received the song, we were worried as to whether it was really okay to sing something like this on TV; that’s how powerful it was.”

For those who haven’t heard it yet, a part of the lyrics state, “The day I turned crazy because of you. The day I was hurt because of you. I’m going to go crazy. The day I turned crazy because of you.”

The girls made their official debut on August 18th through Mnet’s ‘M! Countdown‘. “We were scared during the rehearsal, but not so much on the actual stage. We don’t even remember how it went.”

Kangyoon said, “My oppa, who’s currently serving in the army, called me after our performance. He usually doesn’t praise me, but he said, ‘I’m proud of you. You were amazing.’ I cried after hearing that.”

Although they’re still rookies, they already have a growing international fanbase. Fans from all over the world previously flew in to support their debut stage.

Sunyoung revealed, “I’m not sure how they found out about us to visit. International fans will leave tweets for us in English, but since I’m not good at English, I can only reply in short sentences. It makes me feel apologetic.”

Darae continued, “I try to respond in English as much as I can. Fans will send us pictures that they drew of us and it’s just impossible not to reply.”

Another surprising piece of news is that the girls won’t be continuing as a four-member group. Starting with their next album, they’ll be adding one new member each time.

Sunyoung explained, “There are infinite possibilities to the color black, and just like our name and color, we don’t want to just stop here. We’re going to continue adding members. At least three more members will be joining.”

SY6 Entertainment confirmed that the group will be coming out with their new members around November or December. Darae said, “We’ve only just debuted. We’re going to present a variety of different stages to the public and hopefully become a group that’s easy to approach, like ‘next door idols’.”

Kangyoon concluded, “Our ultimate goal is to make the public watch our stage with amazement. A group that surprises people with every new stage. Our goal for this year is to be like the miss A seniors: to win a rookie award in the year of our debut.”

INFINITE thanks fans for their first ever win

After scoring their very first win yesterday on Mnet’s ‘M! Countdown‘, INFINITE tweeted some heartwarming messages to their fanclub, Inspirit.

Member Sung Yeol gushed, “To our INFINITE Inspirits, I love you. President of Woollim, I love you. To our parents who gave birth to the 7 of us, I love you. Sweetune family, I love you. To all the staff, I love you.”

Woo Hyun also wrote, “To our loveable INFINITE members and Inspirits, whom I’m so happy to have been with, I’ll take care of you until the end ♥” (quoting a line from their hit song, “Be Mine”). Woo Hyun also uploaded a picture taken with the other members to commemorate this long-sought win.

Hoya chimed in with a short, but sweet message, “Inspirits, thank you”.

In addition to expressing his gratitude towards their choreographer, stylist, and vocal instructor, Leader Sung Gyu added, “Inspirits, you know even if I don’t say it, right? I love you, my people,” saying what he was not able to say on stage.

Although they made their debut with “Come Back” last June, and followed up with hits like “She’s Back,” “BTD,” and “Nothing’s Over,” INFINITE hasn’t scored a single #1 win on music programs. Both their personal fans and K-Pop enthusiasts have watched over their growth, and recognized that these boys possessed a talent that unfortunately got swept under the rug every time.

Thanks to their persistence, however, INFINITE was finally able to clinch 1st place on a music program, just one year after their debut.

Yang Hyun Suk & J.Y. Park attend press conference for ‘Survival Audition K-Pop Star’

On September 2nd, YG Entertainment’s Yang Hyun Suk and JYP Entertainment’s J.Y. Park came together at the Imperial Palace Hotel to attend the press conference for SBS’s ‘Survival Audition K-Pop Star‘!

As two of three judges on the show, both men discussed their judging styles as well as what they’ll be looking for in their future talents.

Yang Hyun Suk began, “I’m not going to purposely criticize or act over the top for the program’s sake. I’m going to speak the truth, and as opposed to praise, I’m going to explain what they lack in.”

When asked why he joined the program, he said, “Audition programs discovered stars based on their vocal talent, but this show focuses on the discovery of talents through the eyes of a professional based on not only vocal talent, but dance, looks, and skills as wells. I think that the other standard audition programs are fun to watch and have creative content, but if I were to criticize an aspect, it’d be that the stars they produce are only popular for the duration of the show, which is disappointing.”

Yang continued, “Once they make their major debut, they face thousands of other singers who sing just as great, if not better than them. There needs to be consistency, and that’s why I joined the program.”

J.Y. Park added, “We’re not in this to create a fun show. We’re in this to find the next Big Bang or the Wonder Girls. We’re not going to distort what we do for the sake of the program, and we’ll be picking and judging as we normally would.”

He continued, “On other programs, applicants need to be exceptional in dancing or singing, but in ours, we’re going to look for potential. We’ll be choosing the applicant with the highest potential of growth. There will inevitably be a difference in opinion between the viewers and our eyes.”

Commenting on the type of trainee that they’ll be choosing, the two gave contrasting answers. Yang revealed, “I’m going to pick the person who looks the most evil. They’ll need character, but I think the ones that look mean and strong on stage are the most charismatic.”

J.Y. Park replied, “I have a tendency of picking nice people. g.o.d., the Wonder Girls, and Rain are really bad at variety shows because they’re shy. I prefer people who are honest and diligent.”

‘Survival Audition K-Pop Star’ will begin broadcasting this December.
