Hyomin talks about T-ara’s gym clothes performance for “Roly-Poly”

On last week’s episode of MBC’s ‘Music Core‘, T-ara amused fans by ditching their flashy retro outfits for loose-fitting red Phys.Ed clothes, commonly worn in junior and high schools.

Outfits usually make up a girl group’s image, so the girls definitely managed to turn heads when they emerged with an outfit that’s anything but flattering. T-ara’s Hyomin sat down for an interview with Mydaily and revealed that it was actually an idea suggested by the members themselves!


She revealed, “It was the day that After School and miss A were both making their comebacks, so it was an idea that we all came up with out of concern. It was our fourth week into our ‘Roly-Poly‘ promotions and we wanted to prepare something special. It’s a decision we came to in order to better show off our retro concept.”

To find the outfits, the members sat down with their stylists to come up with the color and the design for their old-school Phys.Ed outfits. “It’s the summer time, so we could only find short outfits. We had to place a special order for longer sleeves and produced a total of seven of them with thick material, which made it really hot.”


It wasn’t only their outfits that they made changes to, as they also gave up their high heels, which was a large sacrifice made by the group’s shortest member, Boram.

With a laugh, Hyomin said, “We all decided to wear sneakers, but since they’re low, it makes your legs look short on stage and it’s just not pretty. We were also worried about Boram unni. If it wasn’t for her sacrifice, the stage wouldn’t have been possible, so we’re all very thankful to her. I was a happy leader when everyone agreed to do it all together.”

Not only is she the new leader of T-ara, but she’s also juggling a drama and a movie role at once. “I’m the busiest I’ve ever been since my debut, but I’m happy. My stamina couldn’t keep up and I did faint, but I want to be more careful this time and end our promotions on a safe and positive note.”

T-ara’s Hyomin reveals her ‘Gyebaek’ costumes

T-ara’s Hyomin recently shared some interesting pictures of herself dressed in costume for her upcoming role in MBC’s historical drama, ‘Gyebaek‘.

Her character, ‘Cho Young‘, is seen wearing outfits of a princess and a beggar.

‘Cho Young’ is secondary to the main character ‘Eun Go‘; she’s been described as a friend with a bright personality who always remains positive and quirky.

Hyomin will be busy with movie interviews and music program recordings, and so she will unfortunately be unable to attend the press conference for ‘Gyebaek’ on July 25th.

Speaking through her company, Core Contents Media, she expressed, “I am crying with apologies and sadness because I won’t be there.

The drama will air its first episode on July 25th.

T-ara’s Hyomin rushed to hospital after fainting from fatigue

It’s being reported that T-ara’s Hyomin has fainted due to fatigue.

On July 19th, Hyomin’s representative revealed,

“Hyomin was filming for her MBC drama ‘Gyebaek’ in the countyside since early this morning. As soon as that was over, she fainted on her way back to Seoul for her round-table interview about her lead role in her debut movie, ‘Gisaeng Ryung‘.

As soon as Hyomin fainted, she was taken to the Ajou University Hospital in Gyeonggi Suwon for an examination. She is now on the way to a hospital in Seoul for another check-up.

It seems that her fatigue built up from her busy schedule with T-ara’s new song promotions, filming for her drama, and promotions for her new movie.

First and foremost, we are focusing on taking care of Hyomin’s health. We will worry about how to take care of her schedules afterwards.“

T-ara’s Hyomin cast for MBC’s upcoming historical drama, ‘Gyebaek’

With T-ara’s promotions for “Roly-Poly” well underway, member Hyomin will face a busier schedule now that she’s been cast for MBC’s upcoming historical drama, ‘Gyebaek‘.

On July 15th, a representative of Core Contents Media confirmed, “Hyomin has decided to star in ‘Gyebaek’, but former reports of her being the leading female role are false.”

Speaking on her role, they revealed, “Hyomin will be playing the role of a woman who goes through heartache as the friend of ‘Eun Go’, who secretly loves ‘Gyebaek’.”

Although Hyomin already gained some acting experience with her movie, ‘Gisaeng Ryung‘, and her SBS drama, ‘My Girlfriend is a Gumiho‘, this will be her first time working on a historical drama.

Directed by Kim Geun Hong (‘Queen Seonduk‘) and writer Jung Hyung Soo (‘Damo‘), the drama will begin airing after ‘Miss Ripley’ concludes on July 25th.

T-ara’s Hyomin gets a new nickname, ‘Horromi’

T-ara’s Hyomin will soon be making her movie debut through “Gisaeng Ryung“. Since ‘Gisaeng Ryung’ is a horror flick, Hyomin gained a new nickname: ‘Horromi’.

Her company said that the nickname was a combination of “horror queen” and “gui-yo-mi“, a saying that’s used to describe something cute. Even though she’s shooting a scary movie, Hyomin still managed to add aegyo into her role.

Still shots from the movie give us a quick look into her character ‘Yurin’, a girl who wants to be #1 in everything. She is a straight-A student and is very proud of it. Other pictures show a very cutesy girl with heart pillows and teddy bears.


The movie is preparing to hit theatres in August.

T-ara’s Hyomin will be starring in her first ever movie in the upcoming horror film, “Gisaeng Ryung“!


Hyomin will be playing the role of a bright and outgoing high school student named ‘Yurin’, who’s also the holder of a key that unlocks the secrets in the plot. ”Gisaeng Ryung” is about a the soul of a murdered child entering the body of another child, who uses the host to avenge herself by committing various acts of murder.

Directed by Yang Yoon Ho (of “Grand Prix” and “Holiday” fame), the movie is expected to hit theaters this August.
